Thanksgiving Day, the western traditional festival, is the Original American people holiday, is also the American family holiday. Originally, there was no fixed date for Thanksgiving. It was decided by the states on a temporary basis. It was not until 1863, after the independence of the United States, that President Lincoln proclaimed Thanksgiving a national holiday. In 1941, Congress officially designated the fourth Thursday of November as Thanksgiving Day.
